I am a Ph.D. student and instructor in the Department of Communication Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. I serve as the lead graduate researcher on a National Science Foundation grant (NSF#1760453: The Changing Nature of "Calls" for Help with Hurricane Harvey: Comparing 9-1-1 and Social Media), and am affiliated with the Center for Health Communication.

My research interests center at the intersection of organizational and crisis communication. I focus on how organizations prepare for natural disasters and how communication facilitates organizing processes in the disaster context. I also study the relationship between technology use, specifically social and mobile media, and organizational practices.
